The hospitality business requires a steady stream of guests, and Hotel on North plans to use a number of different tools to increase occupancy. Main Street CEO Sarah Eustis said. “We’re going to manage our rates very carefully. It’s a fine art.” Main Street will also wage an aggressive PR campaign “that goes way beyond the Berkshires.”

Toward a more affordable Great Barrington

To address our tax burden directly and make living in Great Barrington more affordable, the town could adopt the “residential exemption,” which would reduce the tax bill substantially for those who most need relief.
