Morton worked for many years as plant foreman for Country Log Homes, Phizers, and Gingras Lumber and was also a farmer. He enjoyed golfing and Nascar and had been to Daytona six times.
A celebration of life will be held in Kathleen's honor at the Bitterman Center in Canaan, Conn., on Saturday, Feb. 21, 2026, from 1 to 4 p.m. All are welcome.
A funeral service for Brian “B.O.” Ovitt will be held on Saturday, Feb. 21, 2026, at 11 a.m. at the Birches-Roy Funeral Home, with Pastor Regina King officiating. Family and friends are also invited to calling hours on Friday, Feb. 20, 2026, from 4 to 7 p.m., at the funeral home.
Calling hours will be at the Dery Funeral Home, 54 Bradford St., Pittsfield, on Monday, Feb. 16, from 9:30 a.m. to noon. There will be a brief celebration of her life at 11 a.m. the same day. Burial will be at the family’s convenience.

Funeral Mass for Theodore “Ted” Ptak will be held on Saturday, Jan. 31, at 10 a.m. at Corpus Christi Church Saint Teresa of Calcutta Parish in Housatonic, with Reverend William P. Murphy, Pastor, officiating. Burial will follow in Saint Bridget’s Cemetery in Housatonic.
In keeping with Fred’s wishes, there will be no calling hours. A service will be held on Saturday, February 7, 2026, at 11 a.m. at Finnerty & Stevens Funeral Home. A celebration of life will follow immediately at the Great Barrington VFW.
