Roger Rupert ‘Old Timer’ Stevens Sr., 74, of Ashley Falls

A service for Roger will be held at Finnerty & Stevens Funeral Home at 1 p.m. on February 21, 2026. A celebration of life will be held at the Great Barrington VFW immediately after.

Roger Rupert “Old Timer” Stevens Sr., was born in Great Barrington on September 07, 1951.

Roger fought mightily through a long battle with chronic pain, diabetes, and heart and kidney diseases, which he succumbed to at Bay State Medical Center on February 1, 2026. Although he suffered greatly, he never let these things keep him from being there for the ones he loved. Roger had an extreme affinity for working with his hands. He was a jack of all trades, a carpenter, farmer, and mechanic and had quite the green thumb. He was especially talented with machines and had a beautiful mind. He could seemingly fix anything he put his hands on. He retired as a beloved member of the team at Mill River Farm in Mill River.

Roger was a father and father figure to many. He welcomed all to his home, and the love that he had for his family was immeasurable.

Roger was predeceased by his grandparents, Rupert and Hazel; his parents, Frederick and Pauline, and his brother Frederick Jr. He leaves behind his loving wife of 51 years, Priscilla; his children, Erica, Tonia (Greg), Lynn, Roger Jr. (Kasey), Christina (Jason), Shawn, and Thomas “Bird”; his grandchildren, Brandon (Cheyenne), Sabrina, Anthony, Maria (Nicholas), Ashley (Javier), Kevin, Codey (Ashley), Jerrad (Cierra), Hunter (Krista), Logan, Ava, Zoe (Christian), and Jad; and his great-grandchildren, McKenna, Christopher, Benjamin, Lilianna, Peyton, Mila, Max, Mason, Benji, and two more who arrived this summer. He also leaves behind his brother Larry (Judy) and his sisters, Bonnie (George), Sandra (Ernie), and Debbie (David), as well as many nieces and nephews.

A service for Roger will be held at Finnerty & Stevens Funeral Home, 426 Main Street, Great Barrington, MA, at 1 p.m. on February 21, 2026. A celebration of life will be held at the VFW, 800 South Main Street, Great Barrington, immediately after. In lieu of flowers, donations in Roger’s name can be made to the BMC South County Dialysis Center in Great Barrington in care of Finnerty & Stevens Funeral Home, 426 Main Street, Great Barrington, MA 01230.
