Stockbridge has a new Select Board member: Jorja Marsden wins election for seat vacated by Patrick White

Election turnout saw about 31 percent of registered voters in town.

Stockbridge — Candidate Jorja Marsden has won the vote over candidate Charlotte (Sally) Underwood-Miller to be Stockbridge Select Board’s next member. Town Clerk Terri Iemolini announced the unofficial results in Town Hall just a few minutes after voting ended at 6:30 p.m., with the election’s official tabulation to be presented after the counters have completed their jobs.

According to Iemolini, Marsden received 368 votes, or about 72 percent of the total 509 votes cast, with Underwood-Miller receiving 139 votes, or about 27 percent of the total votes cast. There were two write-in votes cast.

The election’s turnout is calculated to about 31 percent of a total of 1,667 registered voters in Stockbridge.
