Jeremy Higa for School Committee

In their letter, Gene Kalish and Anne Hutchinson write: "Just as he has dedicated himself to his family and their education, we believe that he will dedicate himself to the betterment of the school district."

To the editor:

We would like to recommend Jeremy Higa to the voters in the Berkshire Hills Regional School District.  He is a candidate for one of two Great Barrington Seats on the School Committee. Voters from Great Barrington, Stockbridge, and West Stockbridge vote for all openings on the committee.

We have known, Jeremy, his wife Susan and their three sons for the last four years. The entire family is involved in all of the schools. Jeremy and Susan are clearly concerned with both the every day workings of the schools and with long-term planning. Jeremy has volunteered behind the scenes and wishes to be more involved by being a member of the school board.

He has tremendous energy and intelligence. Just as he has dedicated himself to his family and their education, we believe that he will dedicate himself to the betterment of the school district. Jeremy believes in the great opportunities available in our district and wants to continue to build on the district’s successes while also being financially responsible.

We have had children in Berkshire Hills schools for the past 30 years and expect to for many more. We would be more than pleased if Jeremy were to be our representative on the School Committee in the years to come.
