Thomas H. Martin Sr., 79, of Housatonic

Thomas worked for many years as an electrician for the former Lenox Machine, now Beloit-Lenox, in Lenox Dale, retiring in 2000.

Thomas H. Martin Sr., 79, of Housatonic died Tuesday, Dec. 10, 2019, at Berkshire Medical Center in Pittsfield. Thomas was born Sept. 26, 1940, in Great Barrington, son of Charles and Sadie (Boldyga) Martin. He was educated in local schools. Thomas proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy Seabees. Thomas worked for many years as an electrician for the former Lenox Machine, now Beloit-Lenox, in Lenox Dale, retiring in 2000. He enjoyed golf and family gatherings. Thomas’ wife Barbara Jean (Curtiss) Martin, whom he married Aug. 12, 1961, in Corpus Christi Church, predeceased him Feb. 8, 2016.

Thomas is survived by three sons: Thomas H. Martin Jr. of Housatonic, James J. Martin of Oakland Park, Florida, and Jeffrey S. Martin of Ashley Falls. In addition to his wife, Thomas was predeceased by brother James C. Martin, sister Joan Martin and grandson Jeffrey S. Martin Jr.

Funeral services for Thomas H. Martin Sr. will be held Monday, Dec. 16, at 10 a.m. with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at Corpus Christi Church Saint Teresa of Calcutta Parish with Rev. William P. Murphy officiating. Burial will follow in Saint Bridget’s Cemetery in Housatonic. The family will receive friends Monday, Dec. 16, from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. at BIRCHES-ROY FUNERAL HOME, 33 South St., Great Barrington, MA 01230.
