In his letter to the editor, Tim Walsh writes: “We believe that Andrea Harrington can bring a fresh and innovative change to the office of District Attorney which we think is sorely needed."
As Harrington sees it, trying cases against defendants is not the only relevant experience that qualifies one to be a prosecutor. Her extensive experience as a defense attorney, for example, has given her a clear-eyed and detached view of the criminal justice system.
Almost 20 people, including Selectman Bernie Fallon, briefly spoke in favor of a moratorium, arguing that a delay in accepting applications for dispensaries would "give the town some breathing room" and time to prepare itself.
