Owen D. “Corky” Shultis, 66, of Egremont died Saturday December 21, 2019 at his home. Owen was born on January 14, 1953 in Hillsdale, N.Y., son of Owen and Evelyn (Jenkins) Shultis. Owen worked for 43 years at Simon’s Rock College where he was the Maintenance Supervisor. He enjoyed fixing things, working with his hands. He was always busy and content just puttering around his home. Owen was also very involved with St. Peter’s Church in Great Barrington where he helped with the dinners. Owen is survived by his wife of 22 years, Barbara (Rumovicz) Shultis; two sons, John and David Shultis; and one brother, Brian Shultis.
Funeral Services for Owen D. “Corky” Shultis will be held on Friday December 27 at 10 a.m. at Saint Peter’s Church in Great Barrington with the Rev. William P. Murphy, pastor, officiating. Family will receive friends on Thursday December 26 from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at BIRCHES-ROY FUNERAL HOME, 33 South St., Great Barrington MA 01230. In lieu of flowers expressions of sympathy in Owen’s memory may be made to either the Berkshire Humane Society or Fund for Simon’s Rock c/o Institutional Advancement, in care of the funeral home.
