Anthony Delgado, U.S. Representative from New York’s 19th District, visited Hillsdale Thursday, January 23rd, to meet townspeople at Town Hall and to have a “tour and taste” at the soon-to-open Roe Jan Brewing Company.
Rep. Delgado, who is committed to supporting small towns and businesses, said he was impressed with the growth of commercial establishments in Hillsdale. He wished the new brewery and restaurant great success.
Mr. Delgado began his tour of the establishment in the brewery located downstairs, where a well-balanced rotating lineup of beers, ales and lagers will be produced under the supervision of award-winning brewer Hayley Shine. After Mr. Delgado expressed his beer preferences, Ms. Shine said she could make a beer for him and call it “The Delgado.”

Upstairs, Mr. Delgado toured the bar, dining room and open kitchen featuring a Grillworks wood-fired grill. The bar will serve the brewery’s house-made beer as well as wine and cocktails. We were also presented with a sampling of possible food offerings—a meticulously chopped matchstick salad, delicious beets, and succulent steak, to name a few. If these items make it to the final menu…YUM! Executive Chef Charles Kiely comes to Roe Jan Brewing Company with a long list of credentials and experience that will impress any foodie.

And owners Steve and Kathy Bluestone have devoted the past 20 months to realizing their vision of providing guests with a truly local experience that is unlike anything else in the area.
Personally, I cannot wait for the official opening after what I experienced. Roe Jan Brewing Company is expected to open sometime in February, 2020, and is located at 32 Anthony Street, Hillsdale, N.Y. We look forward to our new neighbor.
