Elevated lead, copper levels in Housatonic village water

During the most recent round of testing for lead and copper in Housatonic Water Works system, the Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection found elevated levels of lead and copper in 20 randomly chosen homes.

Housatonic – The Housatonic Water Works has issued a warning to its 1,400 customers that Department of Environmental Protecting has detected elevated levels of lead and copper in its system, after conducting tests in 20 randomly selected residences.

The private company produced the following notification dated August 1:
