James Turner, 70, of Lenox

Jim moved to Lenox in the mid-1970s where he held several custodial positions including at the former Meadow Place Retirement Home, St. Ann’s Church, the Lenox Library and, most recently, the Old Heritage Tavern until he retired in 2015.

James Earl Turner died suddenly at home in Lenox on July 6, 2017.

Jim was born in Wakefield on April 9, 1947, to Earl and Mary Turner. He was educated in the Wakefield public school system and later attended North Adams State College. Jim is a veteran of the United States Army and served in Vietnam from 1967-1968. He moved to Lenox in the mid-1970s where he held several custodial positions including at the former Meadow Place Retirement Home, St. Ann’s Church, the Lenox Library and, most recently, the Olde Heritage Tavern until he retired in 2015.

Jim is survived by his two daughters Christina Perez (Les), Yvonne Lemmon (Erik), both of Florida, and his son, Caleb (Julia), of Housatonic. He also leaves three grandchildren: Jordann Perez, Quinn Lemmon and Henrietta Turner. Jim was the brother of Steve (Sue) of Lenox; Tom (Phil) of Walnut Creek, California; and Pat (Patty) of York Harbor, Maine. Jim was a favorite of his nieces and nephews.

Jim had a gentle soul and a generous spirit that all who knew him recognized and appreciated.

Calling hours will be held Monday, July 10, from 5 to 7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to either the Lenox Veterans Association or the Lenox Housing Authority, both in care of the funeral home.

Stephen Joseph Tynan, 67, of Great Barrington

A graveside service for Stephen Joseph Tynan will be held on Thursday, March 19, at 10 a.m. in Saint Peter’s Cemetery, with Reverend William P. Murphy, pastor, officiating. Family will receive friends at a calling hour from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. at the Birches-Roy Funeral Home.

Candace Gerard, 80, formerly of Great Barrington

Funeral services for Candace Gerard will be held on Friday March 20, 2026, at 10 a.m. at the Birches-Roy Funeral Home, with Reverend William P. Murphy officiating. Family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday, March 20, from 9 to 10 a.m.

Thomas B. Finn Jr., 75, of Pembroke, Mass.

A celebration of life will be held in his honor on March 28 at Indian Pond Country Club in Kingston, Mass.
