Great Barrington —Great Barrington Police Chief William Walsh said today his department had issued an arrest warrant for an alleged bank robbery suspect who robbed Salisbury Bank & Trust Co. Monday, Feb. 13, before heading southbound in a red 2014 Fiat 500 with Rhode Island license plates.
In a prepared statement Walsh said the man was identified as Eric James Sheridan, 36, of Danielson, Connecticut. Sheridan allegedly walked into the bank at around 3:30 p.m., wearing a grey hoodie and sunglasses, Walsh added. Unarmed, Sheridan then passed a note to the teller, and made away with “an undisclosed amount of cash.”
No one was hurt. But Walsh further warned that, though the suspect committed an “unarmed bank robbery,” the public should still consider him “armed and dangerous.”
And police are now looking for a second suspect, possibly a passenger, waiting in the Fiat, which was parked in the Salisbury parking lot.
On Monday Walsh had described the robbery suspect as a white male in his late twenties or early thirties, between 5’7″ and 5’9″ “with a thin build, weighing around 150 pounds.”
Helping the GBPD with the investigation is also the Berkshire County Law Enforcement Task Force, including Massachusetts State Police Detectives assigned to the Berkshire County District Attorney’s Office.
