How can Great Barrington vote on a Proposition 2 1/2 override without knowing the amount we are voting on?

It is like agreeing to pay back a loan without knowing the amount you are borrowing.

To the editor:

How can we vote on the Proposition 2½ override when we don’t know the exact amount we are voting on? The figures they are throwing out are just ballpark figures. Until it goes out to bid, we don’t know; it might be lower (hopefully) or higher (probably)! It is like agreeing to pay back a loan without knowing the amount you are borrowing.
