Great Barrington — The town advises Great Barrington taxpayers to hold off paying property tax bills sent out this week. The bills displayed incorrect “amount due” information, and corrected bills are being re-sent.
“We apologize to town taxpayers, and ask that everyone wait to receive their updated tax bills before making a payment,” said Town Manager Mark Pruhenski. “This was a technical error with the external vendor we contract with to distribute quarterly tax bills. Updated, corrected bills are being sent out now.”
The bills sent out replicated tax amounts for the first quarter of FY24, not FY25. Also included in the bill was a remittance stub for the second quarter payment, which was also incorrect.
Anyone who has already paid their bill will receive an updated bill reflecting the updated amounts due for FY25 first and second quarter.
