POEM: Oh! Love

For this day of hearts and flowers...

Pink sky at dawn—
sun rising.
Birds and brook singing
a language of sweetness
as lovers embrace on the
shores of affection.
This day of hearts and flowers —
red construction paper and white doilies
crafted into Valentines.
A red rose presented to a beloved.
A toast of champagne across the table —
eyes fixed.
This day of romance —
feelings, sharing, commitment, delight.
Oh! love.
