News Brief: Sen. Hinds, Rep. Pignatelli take oaths of office

Boston — Sen. Adam G. Hinds, D-Pittsfield, and Rep. William “Smitty” Pignatelli, D-Lenox, joined their colleagues on Beacon Hill to take their oaths of office on Wednesday, Jan. 4. Hinds is the newly elected state senator of the Berkshire, Hampshire, Franklin and Hampden District, and Pignatelli began his eighth term representing the 4th Berkshire District.

Hinds cast his first vote during that morning’s session, in support of the candidacy of Sen. Stanley C. Rosenberg, D-Amherst, who was unanimously re-elected to serve as president of the Massachusetts Senate.
