Jennifer M.T. Tranter, 72, of Southfield

Jennifer M.T. Tranter, 72, of Southfield, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Monday July 21, 2025, after battling cancer.

Born on July 15, 1953, in Chicago, Ill., Jennifer was the daughter of the late William Cliffard Tugeau and Suzanne Roberts Tugeau. She was raised in Darien, Conn., and pursued her passion for art through her education, attending Colby Junior College in New London, N.H., and graduating from Elmira College in Elmira, N.Y., with a B.A. in art.

Jennifer was a dedicated art teacher for many years, sharing her creativity and love of the arts with students in both Massachusetts and Connecticut. She was also an active member of Christ Trinity Church in Sheffield.

Jennifer had a deep love for animals, gardening, The Beatles, and the New York Yankees. Her warmth, artistic spirit, and kind heart will be remembered by all who knew her.

She was the devoted wife of the late Brian J. Tranter Sr., who predeceased her on April 7, 2025. She is survived by her sons, Brian J. Tranter Jr. and Hunter W. Tranter (Sarah); her sister Leslie C. Tugeau; her brother William C. Tugeau Jr. (Christina); and many nieces, nephews, and extended family members. She also leaves behind her beloved dog, Kendra, and cat, Calli. Jennifer was predeceased by her brother Steven R. Tugeau.
