Elizabeth ‘Betty’ Naventi, 88, of West Stockbridge

Betty then worked for Lee Automotive as a bookkeeper, retiring in 2009 after 26 years.

Elizabeth J. “Betty” Bona Naventi, 88, formerly of Moscow Road, West Stockbridge, died Thursday, September 7th at Berkshire Medical Center surrounded by her family and friends.

Born in Pittsfield, July 11, 1929, she was the daughter of Lazzaro and Rose Gandelli Bona. Betty was raised in West Stockbridge and was a 1947 graduate of the former Williams High School.

Betty married George J. Naventi on January 31, 1953. He died May 18, 2016.

Mrs. Naventi first worked for the St. Philips Society which restored and framed religious artwork. Then, in 1959, she went to work for the Stockbridge School as a buyer and head housekeeper. Betty then worked for Lee Automotive as a bookkeeper, retiring in 2009 after 26 years.

Betty enjoyed volunteering for the Lee and Lenox Senior Citizens and was a communicant of St. Patrick’s Church. She also enjoyed Bingo and was a fan of the Boston Red Sox.

Mrs. Naventi leaves behind her son, Robert W. Naventi and his wife Sandy, her sister-in-law Josephine “Irene” Boyne and her husband Tom along with many nieces, nephews, friends and neighbors.

Besides her husband, George, Mrs. Naventi was predeceased by her son, Mark J. Naventi in 1983, her brothers: Lawrence, Thomas and Arthur and her sisters: Mary Dunne, Edna Waddell and Alma Allen.

Funeral Services for Elizabeth “Betty” Naventi will be held Wednesday, September 13th, 11 a.m. at St. Patrick’s Church in West Stockbridge with a Liturgy of Christian Burial celebrated by Msgr. John J. Bonzagni, Pastor, officiating. Burial will follow in St. Patrick’s Cemetery. Visiting Hours will be from 9 – 10:15 a.m. at the Kelly Funeral Home, the morning of the funeral.

In lieu of flowers, friends wishing may make donations to St. Patrick’s Church in care of the Kelly Funeral Home, 3 Main St., Lee, MA 01238.
