The town of Lenox received $10,000 from the Department of Housing and Community Development’s Planning Assistance Toward Housing (PATH) program in order to to update its Housing Production Plan.

WAM Theatre to hold auditions for Girls Ensemble

Pittsfield — WAM Theatre will hold auditions for its Girls Ensemble theatre education program for girls on Saturday, Dec. 10, from 1 to 4 p.m. at St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church. WAM is seeking 10 to 12 committed young women ages 13 to 18 who are interested in all aspects of theatre making to be part of the this second Girls Ensemble cohort. The program is tuition-based, but financial assistance is available and all accepted girls will be able to participate.

Girls are asked to prepare an original piece for the auditions – a poem, a song, a dance, a monologue, a painting, or a combination of those – that is 1 to 2 minutes in length. All girls will also participate in the group audition, which will involve theatre games and ensemble group-building activities. All those auditioning are required to be present for the whole audition time. Participants chosen for the Ensemble must commit to being present for all rehearsals between Wednesday, Jan. 4, and Thursday, Feb. 16, 2017. Lenox Housing Trust to hold open house

Lenox — On Monday, Dec. 5, at 6 p.m., the Lenox Housing Trust will hold an open house at the Lenox Community Center. The town of Lenox received $10,000 from the Department of Housing and Community Development’s Planning Assistance Toward Housing (PATH) program in order to to update its Housing Production Plan, and the open house will allow the Trust to get an update on housing needs in Lenox and brainstorm ideas for expanding, creating, maintaining and promoting housing opportunities in the community for all present and future residents. This will be the first of two or three public events aimed at receiving community input as the Housing Trust updates the 2009 Housing Production Plan. The event will include a brief presentation, a short question-and-answer session, and smaller group conversations. Refreshments will be provided and all are welcome and encouraged to attend and participate. Republican Town Committee meeting

Great Barrington — The Great Barrington Town Republican Committee will meet on Tuesday, Dec. 6, at 5:30 p.m. in the Selectmen’s room of theTown Hall, 334 Main St. The agenda will include discussing the election, starting on warrant articles, a possible town recall vote, and the May Town Meeting and election.
