Armand Houle, 80, of Housatonic

He worked for many years as a carpenter and remodeled many homes in the Berkshires.

Armand A. Houle, 80, of Housatonic died Tuesday, Dec. 31, 2019, at his home surrounded by his loving family. Armand was born Dec. 23, 1939, in Waterbury, Connecticut, son of Bruno and Cecile (Bouthot) Houle. He attended St. Ann’s in Waterbury. Armand served his country in the Army National Guard. He worked for many years as a carpenter and remodeled many homes in the Berkshires. Armand enjoyed driving and traveling.

Armand is survived by his wife, Sandra (King) Houle, whom he married Sept. 8, 1962, at St. Ann’s in Waterbury, Connecticut; one son: Roland Houle and wife Cheryl of Housatonic; four daughters: Deborah Ludden of Rutland, Karen Carlotto and husband Andrew of Housatonic, Sherri Phillips and husband James of Chandler, Arizona, and Erin Trombley of Housatonic; one brother: Ronald Houle of New Hampshire; one sister: Janet Orozco of Waterbury, Connecticut; and 13 grandchildren.

In keeping with Armand’s wishes, all services are private. BIRCHES-ROY FUNERAL HOME, 33 South St., Great Barrington, MA 01230 is entrusted with arrangements. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy in Armand’s memory may be made to HospiceCare in the Berkshires in care of the funeral home. Candace Gerard, 80, formerly of Great Barrington

Funeral services for Candace Gerard will be held on Friday March 20, 2026, at 10 a.m. at the Birches-Roy Funeral Home, with Reverend William P. Murphy officiating. Family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday, March 20, from 9 to 10 a.m.

Thomas B. Finn Jr., 75, of Pembroke, Mass.

A celebration of life will be held in his honor on March 28 at Indian Pond Country Club in Kingston, Mass.

Laurie Platt Winfrey Shnayerson, 83, of Hillsdale, N.Y.

The family plans a private memorial and asks that donations in lieu of flowers be made to the Roeliff Jansen Community Library.
