MassDOT to implement two-lane shift Nov. 26 on Route 20

Lenox — On Tuesday, Nov. 26, the Massachusetts Department of Transportation will be implementing a two-lane traffic shift on Route 20, approximately half a mile east of the intersection with Route 7.

The traffic shift is part of a project to install a tunnel under Route 20. This shift, which is expected to be in place until February 2020, will facilitate Phase 1 of the tunnel’s installation. The tunnel project is part of a privately funded major renovation to the Cranwell Resort in Lenox and is being performed though an easement agreement and access permit between Miraval and MassDOT.

Drivers traveling through the affected areas should expect delays, reduce speed and use caution. All scheduled work is weather dependent and/or may be impacted due to an emergency situation.

For more information on traffic conditions, travelers are also encouraged to:

  • Dial 511 and select a route to hear real–time conditions;
  • Visit com, a website which provides real-time traffic and incident advisory information and allows users to subscribe to text and email alerts for traffic conditions;
  • Follow MassDOT on Twitter to receive regular updates on road and traffic conditions; and
  • Download MassDOT’s GoTime mobile app and view real-time traffic conditions before setting out on the road.
