Anne Lorraine Stannard, 91, of Great Barrington

Anne Lorraine Stannard, 91, of Great Barrington, died Tuesday, October 28, 2025, at Fairview Commons in Great Barrington surrounded by her family. She was born on September 29, 1934, in Great Barrington, the daughter of Albert and Anna (Dacey) Stehlin.

Anne was a graduate of the former Searles High School in the class of 1952. She was employed by the Home Gas Company for over 30 years. She also spent a number of years working with children as a teacher’s aide in Berkshire Hills Regional School District.

Anne loved knitting, crocheting, sewing, baking, cooking, and spending time with her family. Over the years, she enjoyed caring for her many dogs and cats.

Anne’s husband of 65 years, Lawrence Elliott Stannard, whom she married on May 28, 1960, in St. Peter’s Church, predeceased her on October 25, 2025. Anne is survived by her son Mark Stannard of Fairview, Tenn.; her daughter Cheryl Cardillo and husband Timothy of Housatonic; and her five grandchildren, Victoria, Brittney, Brandon, Ryan, and Jason.

A graveside service will be held at a later date. Condolences may be made through the website of Birches-Roy Funeral Home.
