THEN & NOW: Marcel’s Cleaning Center

The state-of-the-art dry cleaning and laundry facility was operated by Marcel and Dorothy Brunell.

Marcel’s Cleaning Center on Housatonic Street (Route 20) in the town of Lee is shown in the 1960s photograph above. The impressive, state-of-the-art, dry cleaning and laundry facility was operated by Marcel and Dorothy Brunell. Both were active in the community, and Mr. Brunell also served as a Lee selectman. The building was later home to a roller skating rink, then Country Curtains sales and storage, and is now a popular liquor store.
