Margaret ‘Peggy’ Mahoney, 87, of Lenox

A registered nurse, Mrs. Mahoney completed her training at the Metropolitan State Hospital in Waltham and was the nurse at Bellefontaine, Immaculate Heart of Mary Seminary in Lenox for 11 years.

Margaret M. “Peggy” Mahoney, 87, of Lenox, died Thursday at Berkshire Medical Center.

Peggy’s passing from this world to heaven during Christmas week was perfect. She represents all that Christmas is: Love, Peace, Light, and Joy. Her family was blessed to have her as a mother, wife, daughter and friend. She was their gift from God, one that will be cherished for all eternity. Born March 20, 1931, in North Adams, the daughter of Edwin and Lucy Quinton Bohl, she attended local schools and, following high school, was a graduate of the St. Luke’s Hospital School of Nursing. A registered nurse, Mrs. Mahoney completed her training at the Metropolitan State Hospital in Waltham and was the nurse at Bellefontaine – Immaculate Heart of Mary Seminary in Lenox for 11 years. She was a communicant of St. Ann’s Church in Lenox. She and her husband, Leo E. Mahoney, were married May 2, 1951, at Notre Dame du Sacre Coeur Church in North Adams.

Besides her husband of Lenox, she is survived by her children Leo W. Mahoney of Lenox, Paul G. Mahoney (Franki) of Lenox, Susan M. Wentworth (Doug) of Pittsfield, Lynn D. Pandell (Rick) of Lenox, and Beth M. Wheeler (Dante) of Lee; 14 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by son Shawn E. Mahoney and brother Eddie Bohl.

The funeral of Mrs. Margaret M. Mahoney of Lenox will be Thursday, Jan. 3, 2019, at 10 a.m. from the ROCHE FUNERAL HOME, followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. at St. Ann’s Church celebrated by the Rev.
