Great Barrington Main Street reconstruction update

Curb and brick work on the west side between Castle and Railroad streets, which continue at the request of the adjacent businesses, is projected to be finished in a week.

 Week of Monday, July 13 – Friday, July 17, 2015

 Update from the Southern Berkshire Chamber of Commerce:

Maxymillian will continue work July 13 at 6:30 a.m. They will be removing sidewalk and curbing on the west side of Main Street, from Elm Street moving north.

railroad to mahaiweThey will be setting curbing and pouring sidewalk on the south side of the project from Bridge Street to St James Place.

There will be no major construction between Castle and Elm streets during July and August, with the exception of sidewalk curb and brick work on the west side between Castle and Railroad streets, which will continue at the request of the adjacent businesses and is projected to be finished in a week.

All businesses will have clear access during work hours.

Verizon will be preparing to do conduit work from Elm Street moving north.

Two-way traffic and access to businesses will be maintained at all times. Police officers will be present at all locations to direct traffic and ensure traffic flows smoothly in all directions.

Work hours are between 6:30 a.m. and 3 p.m. Monday through Friday. With the exception of completion of daily tasks and additional clean up of work areas, road conditions will return to normal after 3 p.m. each day.
