Stephen Page Singalong

First Congregational Church of Lee will present jazz pianist Stephen Page of Amherst Friday, March 6 from 7-8 pm in a singalong community concert in the historic church. This program, “The Joy of Piano Concert Series,” is supported in part by the church, Maichack Arts, and by the Massachusetts Cultural Council, a state agency, under a Creative Experiences grant. The program is free and open to the public and is fully accessible. It is the second of three concerts under this grant, with May 1, 2026, 7-8 pm as the last. Mr. Page will also play some solo jazz selections.
Stephen Page has performed for more than 30 years from The Plaza in New York City to Yale University and on stage with jazz luminaries such as Sheila Jordan at Northampton’s Iron Horse and for many years at Jazz in July at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst; played with saxophonist Archie Shepp and in bassist Avery Sharpe’s trio. He’s appeared at Gateways Inn, Kimball Farms New Year’s, Northampton Jazz Festival and from Maine to Florida. He is on the music faculty of Amherst College and Deerfield Academy and teaches in his Amherst studio.
He has been called a “brilliant talent” by Mr. Shepp, and his playing “sensitive and extraordinary” by bassist Avery Sharpe.
The event is free and open to the public. Donations to support the missions of the church are welcome.
