William Heenan, 70, of Ashley Falls

William was raised and educated in New York, attended Siena College and was an accountant for the state of New York for 35 years.

William T. Heenan, 70, of East Stahl Road passed away Saturday, June 9, 2018, at home.

Born April 4, 1948, in Schenectady, New York, he was the son of the late Thomas and Marion Hayner Heenan. William was raised and educated in New York, attended Siena College and was an accountant for the state of New York for 35 years. William married Claire Gerdes Heenan, in 1975. She passed away in 2013. They cherished spending time together in both the Adirondack and Berkshire mountains, camping and fishing as often as possible.

William was a former member of the Elks Lodge in Watervliet, New York, and an avid supporter of the American Cancer Society’s Relay for LifeWilliam was a “great guy” and a wonderful friend to all who knew him. He loved watching golf and was always busy working on projects around the house. But above all, he was an amazing husband, father and grandfather to his daughter Julia’s three beloved dogs.

William is survived by his daughter, Julia Heenan, and her three dogs Abigail Jane, Isabella Rose and Suzzie Q, all of Ashley Falls. He is also survived by his caregivers who became family: Miss Beth Crowell, Andy Crowell and children, Erin, Casey and Andy Jr.; and Stephanie and Stephen Rigazio and son Alex.

In accordance with his wishes, services will be private. Donations in memory of William T. A graveside service for Tony Bleau Sr. will be held on Thursday, Oct. 3, at 11:30 a.m., in Saint Bridget’s Cemetery in Housatonic, with Reverend William P. Murphy officiating. Family will receive friends on Thursday, Oct. 3, from 9 to 11 a.m.m, at the Birches-Roy Funeral Home
