News and Ideas Worth Sharing

What about the American people?

If the unthinkable happens on November 5, I would advise anyone who is young and wants a decent and happy life to leave this country.

To the editor:

With the upcoming election, all we hear about are the two candidates. But there is a third category: the American people.

Could someone tell me how they can possibly support Donald Trump? I could fill an entire edition of The Berkshire Edge with a list of disgraceful comments about the criminal. There are only two possible reasons that come to mind as to why the polls are so close: Almost 50 percent of the country either are racists or have no minds.

Kamala Harris and Tim Walz understand that a president and a vice president are elected to serve the people. Trump and Vance think that the purpose of getting elected is to serve themselves and become dictators. Harris and Walz talk about their policies for the future. Trump talks about Haitians eating dogs and cats, and Vance is disgusted that obviously it was the left that tried to kill Trump twice while no one has tried to kill Kamala yet.

Out of all the Americans who could be running for the two top offices in the country, we have the option to vote for two of the worst. If the unthinkable happens on November 5, I would advise anyone who is young and wants a decent and happy life to leave this country. It is incredible to even contemplate what this nation will become if these two despicables emerge victorious.

A reflection on No Kings Day

I don't know what kind of drugs the Trump administration and Fox News thinks Americans are on, but their response to No Kings Day defies belief—even by MAGA standards.

We have been kinda busy getting the festival together, but if it needs to be said: The 2025 West Stockbridge Zucchini Festival has been and still is unequivocally on for Saturday, August 9, 10 a.m. to 10 p.m., rain or shine!
