West Stockbridge Zucchini Festival seeking funds and volunteers

We have been kinda busy getting the festival together, but if it needs to be said: The 2025 West Stockbridge Zucchini Festival has been and still is unequivocally on for Saturday, August 9, 10 a.m. to 10 p.m., rain or shine!

To the editor:

We really wish a recent Edge headline read “West Stockbridge Zucchini Festival Seeking Funds & Volunteers!”

We have been kinda busy getting the festival together, but if it needs to be said: The 2025 West Stockbridge Zucchini Festival has been and still is unequivocally on for Saturday, August 9, 10 a.m. to 10 p.m., rain or shine!

The festival is a labor of love, 100 percent organized and run by unpaid volunteers, neighbors, and friends and funded by ticket sales, merchandise, vendor fees, and, in part, by generous donations from local businesses and many other folks in the Berkshire community.

Sometimes the festival is given incredibly generous donations like those from Wiseacre Farm in the last two years. We have nothing but gratitude for Jon Piasecki’s contribution to this community event—through his volunteering, donations, and zucchini-weighing expertise. It is a fact that Jon’s donations were integral to getting the festival back on its legs after a long hiatus.

Sometimes the festival gets fewer donations. And us volunteers need to puzzle out in good faith how to raise a little more money. Great thing is we are always committed to adapting programming accordingly to ensure this beloved community event is possible for all of us. Because ultimately, the festival is a group of people, neighbors and friends, getting together to build community and sharing it with anyone who wants in on the fun.

That said—any and all volunteers or donations are welcome! Hope to see you all August 9!
