W.E.B. Du Bois Middle School Principal Wheat leaving for New York, third principal in Berkshire Hills Regional School District to leave by end of school year

The Berkshire Hills Regional School District will now have to find new principals for all three of its schools.

Great Barrington — The Chatham Central School District in New York announced on its Facebook page on Wednesday, April 24, that Miles Wheat will be the new principal of Chatham High School starting in July.

Wheat was named principal of W.E.B. Du Bois Middle School in June 2023.

Consequently, the Berkshire Hills Regional School District will now have to find new principals for all three of its schools. Back in March, Muddy Brook Elementary School Principal Kate Retzel announced that she would be leaving the district at the end of the school year. In early April, Monument Mountain Regional High School Principal Kristi Farina announced that she would be retiring at the end of the school year.
