Vote ‘Yes’ to invest in our collective future

We often hear the adage "it takes a village to raise a child," and it holds a profound truth. Our children are not just our future; they are the individuals who will shape the very fabric of our community for years to come.

To the editor:

I am writing to you today as a fellow community member and a parent to share my perspective on a critical issue facing our town: the upcoming November 4 vote on whether to build a new Monument Mountain Regional High School.

We often hear the adage “it takes a village to raise a child,” and it holds a profound truth. Our children are not just our future; they are the individuals who will shape the very fabric of our community for years to come. Yet, when it comes to investing in their education, we sometimes encounter resistance, with concerns about tax increases or the immediate relevance to those without children or other reasons.

I believe this perspective overlooks the fundamental importance of providing every child with the best possible education. An investment in our schools is an investment in our collective future. It empowers our children to develop into well-rounded individuals, capable of contributing meaningfully to society and becoming the best versions of themselves.

For these reasons, I urge everyone to truly embody the spirit of a village for our children. Let’s demonstrate our commitment to their future by voting “YES” for a new Monument Mountain Regional High School on November 4. This is an opportunity to make a lasting positive impact on our community for generations to come.

Election day results

Red-state voters are hurt more by Trump policies than blue-state voters, so if MAGA faithful become aware of this, Republicans should not expect those voters to be sheep they intend to slaughter. That is the lesson of Nov. 4.
