Vote ‘Yes’ to expand the opportunities for future Monument Mountain Regional High School students

A school's intrinsic value cannot be measured in just statistics; rather, it must be seen as a vision which looks to the future while acknowledging the generations who helped mold that vision.

To the editor:

On November 4, 2025, the residents of Berkshire Hills Regional School District will cast votes that will determine the course of public education in the school district. I was a Monument Mountain Regional High School social studies teacher for 40 years (1969–2009) and was able to experience what this school and its students mean to our community.

A school is more than a collection of data and financial numbers. Its intrinsic value cannot be measured in just statistics; rather, it must be seen as a vision which looks to the future while acknowledging the generations who helped mold that vision.

I was the recipient of a previous generation’s educational plan that resulted in a new regional high school (1968). It is now the current generation’s obligation to continue the excellent education and expanded opportunities a new Monument Mountain Regional High School would bring to our community and future generations of students. On November 4, vote “YES” for Monument Mountain to ensure that the educational dreams and goals of new and future generations will be realized.

Election day results

Red-state voters are hurt more by Trump policies than blue-state voters, so if MAGA faithful become aware of this, Republicans should not expect those voters to be sheep they intend to slaughter. That is the lesson of Nov. 4.
