Vincent Stannard, 55, of West Stockbridge

A celebration of life will be held Friday, March 24, 2023 at the Stockbridge Sportsman’s Club from 4 to 7 p.m. Donations may be made to the Vincent Stannard Memorial Scholarship Fund.

Vincent Stannard began his new journey on March 19, 2023. He left this life peacefully surrounded by family and friends and his most trusted companion, Ruby.

Vincent Stannard.

Vincent was born at St. Luke’s Hospital on December 4, 1967. He grew up in West Stockbridge, moved to Richmond, and then to his final home in West Stockbridge, which he called his “Paradise,” nestled in the middle of his family’s Angus and Arabian farm.

Since his childhood, Vincent possessed a love for animals. He was always adopting a dog, chicken, or raccoon to nurse back to health. His love for animals continued throughout his life. The family horse was his first experience with horses, and he went on to raise and train Arabians. His prize stallion, Our Caballero, was his pride and joy. He, his dad, and his brother raise Angus on the farm. It was there that he learned to artificially breed his stock, so he developed his own lineage of Angus. He was also an avid sportsman of game fish and fowl. There wasn’t a season that you didn’t see Vin out hunting duck, turkey, pheasant, and deer. Deer was his all-time favorite hunt and he was great at it. He was also a gardener and arborist who assisted and supported homeowners across south county.

His greatest love besides his Ruby, Angus, and Arabians, were his nieces and nephews and grand nieces and nephews. He taught them to fish, hunt, ride horses, respect the land and what it provides for us, respect animals for they are part of nature, and to always be kind, giving, and caring to others. Some of our all-time favorite memories are making maple sugar at the” Sugar Shack,” making apple cider in the cider press, family get togethers at Vinny’s Club House, baby Angus calves in the spring, riding on the John Deere tractors, haying with the entire family, and riding and grooming the horses with Vincent.

Vin’s legacy was his passion for family, friends, animals, and the land. He lived a life of simplicity in which his priority was love and kindness. He was a friend to all and gave to others in their time of need. He always looked for the good in everyone. He reminded us all to stay optimistic and positive in some of the most difficult times. Vincent always gave more than he received.

He leaves his parents, Victor and Cecilia Stannard; his sisters, Veronica (Terrence) Timmons, Brenda (John) Cadorette; his brother, Victor Stannard Jr.; his nieces and nephews, Jessica (Christopher) Kramek, Alexandra (Joseph) Timmons, Sean (Kait) Timmons, Elizabeth Cadorette, and John (Emily) Cadorette; and his grand nieces and nephews, Addison, Mckenzie, Colby, Arabella, Jayce, Tanner, and Weston.

A celebration of life will be held Friday, March 24, 2023 at the Stockbridge Sportsman’s Club from 4 to 7 p.m. Donations may be made to the Vincent Stannard Memorial Scholarship Fund by check at the celebration of life, forwarded to PO Box 250, West Stockbridge MA, 01266, or by venmo (Vincent-Stannard-Scholarship).
