Victim in Stockbridge fatal hit and run incident identified

The incident is under investigation and further details are set to be released by the Berkshire County District Attorney's office.

Berkshire County — The Berkshire County District Attorney’s office has identified Franklin Ripley, 72, as the victim in the fatal hit-and-run incident in Stockbridge on Saturday, September 28.

According to Julia Sabourin, Chief Operating Officer for the District Attorney’s Office, at approximately 6:44 a.m. on September 28, a motorist found Ripley lying on the side of the road at the 4.1 mile marker on Route 102.

Lee Ambulance pronounced Ripley dead at the scene.

Sabourin told The Berkshire Edge that further details on the investigation into the incident would be announced by the District Attorney’s Office later today.
