Great Barrington — This afternoon (Sunday, November 29), the McCormick family released the following statement, reporting that Ed McCormick, who suffered a heart attack on Thanksgiving morning while taking part in the traditional Turkey Trot at Bard College at Simon’s Rock, has been released from hospital and is at home resting:
“On Thursday, while participating in our family’s and the community’s annual Thanksgiving tradition, The Turkey Trot, Ed McCormick went into cardiac arrest. Thanks to the highly skilled and swift actions of first responders, Southern Berkshire Volunteer Ambulance Squad, Great Barrington Fire Department, Great Barrington Police Department, race volunteers and Fairview Hospital he was quickly stabilized and transferred to Baystate Medical Center where he was treated and released.
Our family is thankful for all of the support and assistance of our community.”
