Twoflower Cafe closes as a result of suffering labor market

"It is with mixed emotions that we announce that Twoflower is closing,” Twoflower co-owners Rupert Jones and Sandy Mathews wrote in a Facebook post. “For the past two years, we have enjoyed serving Great Barrington and getting to know all of you. Unfortunately, the challenging labor market has just made it too hard to continue."

Great Barrington — Rupert Jones and Sandy Mathews, co-owners of the Twoflower Cafe, announced on social media on Wednesday, August 30 that the cafe has closed for good. The two opened the cafe back in February 2021.

“It is with mixed emotions that we announce that Twoflower is closing,” Jones and Mathews co-wrote in a Facebook post. “For the past two years, we have enjoyed serving Great Barrington and getting to know all of you. Unfortunately, the challenging labor market has just made it too hard to continue. Our last day was this past Monday, Aug. 28. We will miss seeing many of you every week and hope that you understand our decision.”

The location on 34 Railroad St. was formally known as Botanica, which operated from 2017 to 2019.

Earlier this week, the co-owners of Fuel Bistro and Coffee Shop announced that they were putting their business up for sale. However, co-owner Will Curletti told The Berkshire Edge that the cafe would remain open as they wait for a buyer.
