Triplex will thrive with community ownership

I'm a proponent of direct stakeholder relationship whereby a community invests in itself.

To the editor:

As the longtime film buyer for the Triplex I was thrilled to learn that a local grassroots community organization of concerned residents has sprung into action in an effort to save the theater. I’m a proponent and believer in this strategic approach (many of my other clients have already embraced the nonprofit model as a means for survival), and the notion that it is through a direct stakeholder relationship — whereby a community invests in itself, strengthens ties from within, and controls its own destiny — that local cinemas such as the Triplex can adapt, sustain, and remain viable and relevant for generations to come.
