Through Our Eyes: Stockbridge Coffee & Tea

The senior class at the Berkshire Waldorf High School is in the midst of an illustration class. They spent time drawing in Stockbridge Coffee & Tea, a place they visit daily.

Editor’s Note: The senior class at the Berkshire Waldorf High School is in the midst of an illustration class given by illustrator Adam Gudeon. Their first project, documentary illustration, was inspired by the “Drawn Journalism” of artists such as Wendy MacNaughton and Maira Kalman. They approach a subject through the intimate process of drawing onsite, while listening and/or speaking with the people on site. The result becomes a place or topic presented through their own drawn vision and few words, capturing something of the essence of the environment. For this piece for the Berkshire Edge, they’ve spent time drawing in Stockbridge Coffee and Tea, a place which they visit frequently, even daily, but now seen through another lens.
