Three die in Pittsfield fire, District Attorney’s office reports

There is no indication the fire is suspicious.

Pittsfield —The Pittsfield Fire Department responded to a fire at a residence at Lake Onota Village in Pittsfield at 3:40 a.m. Saturday, March 16.

Three individuals died in the fire. Two residents escaped the home and were taken to the Berkshire Medical Center for non-life threatening injuries. The home was heavily damaged. A nearby residence sustained some damage.

At this time District Attorney Andrea Harrington finds that there is no indication the fire is suspicious.

Conducting a joint and ongoing investigation into the incident are the Pittsfield Fire Department, the Pittsfield Police Department, members of the State Police assigned to the Office of the State Fire Marshal, and detectives from the State Police Detective Unit assigned to the Berkshire District Attorney’s Office.
