Tom Schwarz, born in White Plains, N.Y., on July 20, 1934, died at the Mount Carmel Care Center in Lenox, Mass., on August 12th at the age of 89 after a lengthy struggle with Alzheimer’s disease.
Tom graduated from White Plains High School (1953), Dartmouth College (1957) and the Amos Tuck School (1958). After a rewarding career in advertising, marketing and recruiting, shortened by Alzheimer’s, he retired to the Berkshires home in Sheffield that he shared with his beloved wife, Susan Schwarz. Tom loved his family and friends, the view from his living room, reading and writing, Dartmouth, racket sports of all kinds, and any team with New York in its name.
He is survived, was loved, and will be greatly missed, by Sue; son Douglas (Beth Marcus), stepdaughter Joanna Cohen (Alec) and daughter- in-law Lisa Perricone; grandchildren Marcus Schwarz (Emma Sokoloff), Julia Schwarz (Chris Krasniak), Viviana Schwarz and Sara Perricone; great-grandchildren Solomon Schwarz and Eliza Krasniak; siblings-in-law Barbara Schwarz, Lois Miller and Lee Miller (Kai Loebach); and nephews, nieces, cousins, and caregivers. His brother Paul, daughter Elizabeth, former wife Shirley, and parents Herbert and Jane predeceased him.
