Thomas Frank Keefner, 87, of Great Barrington died Wednesday, December 21, 2022 at his home surrounded by his loving family. Tom was born on January 14, 1935 in Great Barrington, son of Benjamin and Dora (Race) Keefner.

Tom proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He worked for many years as a mechanic and foreman at Lee Lime then Cemex, retiring in 2000. Tom was a life member of the Lee VFW post 893 and Great Barrington Fish and Game. Tom was known by many and loved and respected by all. He was a jack of all trades, from building houses to fixing cars. There was nothing he wouldn’t take on. He had a kind and gentle soul and shared many life lessons, and, because of that, he will be remembered through each and every person with whom he shared his wisdom. Heaven just gained a man valued at the highest of honors … and we all call him Dad and Pops.
Tom was predeceased by his wife, Patricia (Newman) Keefner. Tom is survived by his three daughters, Joeann Gagnon and husband Rich, Connie Weiland, and Beverly Keefner; 10 grandchildren, Theresa, Rich, Rebecca, Sara, Angela, Kwik-Silver, Thomas, Valerie, Sadie, and Donald; 21 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren. Tom was predeceased by his two sisters and six brothers.
In keeping with Tom’s wishes, all services with Military Honors were private. Birches-Roy Funeral Home is entrusted with arrangements. Condolences may be made through the funeral home’s website.
