The passenger train depot in the village of Housatonic, featured in the circa 1910 postcard view shown above, was built in 1881. This station replaced an earlier depot built circa 1859 which was moved north to serve as a freight station. There are no known photographs of the original Housatonic depot constructed in the 1840s. The present-day station is shown below and is privately owned. The water tower was erected around 1952.
