THEN & NOW: The view from Stockbridge

Cherry Street and Cherry Hill Road in Stockbridge offer an impressive view of Beartown Mountain.

The vintage view shown above was featured on a postcard sold by Benjamin’s Pharmacy in Stockbridge, circa 1910. An unknown farmer and his horse proudly pose for the camera in a pasture framed by Cherry Street and Cherry Hill Road. Beartown Mountain provides an impressive background. The same scene (below) was captured on camera two months ago when there was still snow cover.
