THEN & NOW: 611 South Main Street

In recent decades, Ken TenBroeck’s Barber Shop was located here. The cutting and clipping continues as Anthony’s and Cary’s Barbershop.

The identity of the father (or grandfather) and children posing for the early 1900s photograph shown above is unclear. The two girls appear to be twins. The location is 611 South Main Street in Great Barrington, home of Will and Helena Leonard around the time the photograph was taken.

In recent decades, Ken TenBroeck’s Barber Shop was located here. The popular tonsorial artist first opened a barber shop in 1960 on Railroad Street. He moved to the South Main Street location in 1977. After Mr. TenBroeck passed away in 2018, the cutting and clipping continued as Anthony’s and Cary’s Barbershop, shown below.
