The Mason Public Library lawn is the perfect place for a statue of W.E.B. Du Bois

Du Bois was an activist for justice and peace, and he was a scholar, writer, researcher, and editor. He believed deeply in the importance of education.

To the editor:

The more I learn about W.E.B. Du Bois, the more in awe I am—a the more I love that a sculpture of him will be in front of the public library.

Du Bois was an activist for justice and peace, and he was a scholar, writer, researcher, and editor. He believed deeply in the importance of education.

Thank you to the independent group of local citizens who are raising funds and organizing to put a sculpture of W.E.B. Du Bois in front of the public library in Great Barrington, the town where he was born in 1868.

What a wonderful place—in front of the public home for books—for the sculpture to be.
