Italians are fascinated by Trump. Tuscany is very liberal, but even my more conservative friends here and in Sicily and Milan cannot understand why he continually changes his policies on a daily basis.
As to playing Prospero? Jolyn Unruh remembers her inner thoughts: “I’m just recovering from cancer treatment, and I’m exhausted and I’m kind of overwhelmed — I’m finishing my master’s degree—but I would never say no to that!”
Tackling this play, including editing it cleanly, is an achievement, one that director Tina Packer has undertaken nobly and completed successfully. I would not have missed this for anything.
Not your usual one-person play, this play is about the journey of a man's real life, a man who is compelled through circumstance to be a loner first, last and always.
