Kids’ welfare ought to be our first, second, third and fourth philanthropic priorities and when the kids are all set with food, shelter, loving adults and good schools, then we may turn our attention to the adults, and then to the animals.
Bill gave generously of himself to the community, serving as a West Stockbridge selectman, youth hockey coach, Little League baseball umpire, on the board of the local United Way and Chamber of Commerce, and on the vestry of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Stockbridge.
She volunteered with Berkshire Women for Women, the Berkshire Immigrant Center literacy mentoring program, and donated regularly to local cultural and social justice organizations.
