For a short time, Ches had a neurology practice in Meriden, then joined the staff of Cedarcrest Hospital in Newington where he stayed for 20 years, becoming chief of the medical service.
He had a long career as a systems engineer at General Electric Ordnance Systems in Pittsfield, working on fire (launch) control systems for submarine-based fleet ballistic missiles and retired in 1992.
Her career included being a piano teacher; the organist and choir director at St. Peter’s Church, Great Barrington; mathematics and computer teacher at Berkshire Country Day School; computer programmer at Geary Corporation and more.
