Mighty No Bitey, Berkshire organic bug spray, heads to the Oscars

With 50 stores and Big Y stocking Mighty No Bitey, its creator, Terri See, had to start bottling in a Monterey church basement, but that’s not going to cut it from here on out.

The Rev. David B. Rogers, 71, of North Egremont

David joined the Navy in the fall of 1963. He was based out of Long Beach, Calif., and served in Vietnam as a radar technician aboard the aircraft carrier, USS Yorktown.

Taylor James Pixley, 72, of Great Barrington

Mr. Pixley was a 2nd class Petty Officer with the Navy Seabee’s. Upon his return to Great Barrington he began working at Joe Wilkinson Construction.

Walter F. ‘Sonny’ Atwood Jr., 97, of Housatonic, Mass.

He was elected to the Great Barrington Planning Board, Finance Committee and School Committee in the 50’s and 60’s. He was elected Commander of the Adams-Budz Post in 1951 and Berkshire County 9th District VFW Commander in 1955.

Dance for Memorial Day: ‘Close Order Drill Disco’

Of his dance choreographed for Memorial Day (click on the video in this item) , Leif Steinert of Stockbridge writes: "I think what I have achieved here is truly ridiculous."

Capt. Herbert Irving Mandel, 98, of Lenox, U.S. Navy (Retired), graduate of U.S. Naval Academy

For his service in WWII, he was awarded a second Gold Star in lieu of his third Silver Star medal. His funeral with full military honors will take place at Arlington National Cemetery in the spring.

Robert T. Reilly, 75, of Sheffield

Bob was a lifelong cook and worked at several area schools and restaurants, such as the White Hart Inn, Hotchkiss School in Lakeville, Conn., Bard College at Simon’s Rock, Colburn School, Captain Toss and Village Inn in Lenox.

Eugene F. Novicki, 86, of Ashley Falls

Eugene proudly served his country with the U.S. Navy during WWII and Korea. Eugene loved woodworking, gardening and fixing things; he could fix anything.
