“This Prosperity Way project will be the largest affordable-housing home-ownership project in Berkshire County,” said organization Executive Director Carolyn Valli. “It is essential now because people’s rents are so high, and many families are paying more than 50 percent of their income on housing.”
“It all started with the trees,” Fuel Coffeeshop co-owner Robin Curletti says, half joking, of the veritable downtown shuffle that was heralded by the controversial removal of the 35-year-old Bradford pear trees lining Main Street.
